Karen

Thanks for the visit. I have just been re-visiting my plans after the coaching call the other night in order to revise and stretch my goals. Sometimes I find the hardest thing to do is get the time to plan as you feel a need to plough on.
Are you going to publish your plans/pledge in the forum as then you can be held accountable!! Speak soon

Thanks for stopping by. Alex has been a great and inspiring mentor and has way over-delivered what i think we all expected when we signed up to his program. I think your goal board sounds a great idea, I have some 'wish list' type pictures behind my computer to remind me of my aims, but perhaps a focus quote would be a useful addition!
All the best

Hi Tom,

This post immediately caught my eye, becuase this is the exact area that I want to improve on. I have decided to spend four hours per week on planning alone and then planning tomorrow, today. Like Alex said.

And thanks for the reminder in your post - about having a personal pledge. That's actually something that I do not have right now, that I want to create.

Great post Tom and your blog is coming along wonderfully,
Karen

Hi Tom,

I just thought I would pop by and say hello and return the visit from my blog!
I really like your style of writing and your truth. Alex sounds like he is an awesome mentor. Mentors are so important when we are learning as well as the community we learn with.

I really like the plan ideas. I have sort of been working to a plan. I have a goal board on the wall opposite me when I am working at the computer and have my goals posted on 6x4 cards. I look at them everyday and the one that gets me the most is the card in the middle that says: "Stay Focused"

It can be so easy to get side tracked...but one of my favorite sayings is "The Tortoise always wins the race".

Stay focused and have fun!

Kind Regards

Jacinta :D

Hi Tom

Very good post...To me having the right plan of action, is more important than having a plan in the first place. it is important to set deliverable goals that need to be accomplished at a set time, otherwise if you dont execute your goals, the plan will fail anyway.

Hi Tom -

Great post brotha. It's true that "without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.” You become busy without moving forward. Know where you want to go, plan actions that will get you there, and move your feet!

Glad to see you on the AJ course and taking action. Talk to you soon....Paul

Great post Tom!! You are so right on the money regarding having a plan. And this theory flows over into everyday life as well as business. I totally agree with your T. Boone Pickens quote!! Truer works have not been spoken!
Keep up the good work!

Hi Tom,

Good content, well put.

Your blog title " Failing to Plan is Planning To Fail" says it all and to be honest it gave me a wake-up call as it is easy to start forgetting the basics.

Keep up the great blogging. I will come back to see what you have to say next time ;o)

Hey Tom:

It's true and great - almost an "adage" about planning and failing!

I find that it helps me a lot to use"planning tools" even for small tasks, for example when I create a new video, or structure a 45 minute segment of focused work.

My favorite planning tool is to create a mind map. And I find it really helps. DOing it on the small stuff helps you get practice and discipline in using it.

Cheers,
Thomas

This is so true, without a plan we are doomed to fail!!
